A warm, woody and sharp smelling Red Cedar powder. It has the classic Red Cedar smell you might find in a warm sauna, a freshly sharpened pencil or a salmon grilling plank (without the fish of course).
This makes for an excellent incense base if your intention is to have Cedar as the leading aroma. However, it easily overpowers most other finer aromatics because of it's high essential oil content. When used in a recipe with other aromatics, I suggest using 25% or less in regards to the total recipe weight in order to allow other ingredients to shine through.
In general, Cedar tends to require a slightly higher level of binder (Makko, Joss or gum binder) and more water compared to most other wood powders.
This is the same Red Cedarwood powder we use in our incense cones, simply because it's the best!
