Gum Benzoin from Sumatra
Balsamic, sweet, fresh smelling incense resin with vanilla and cinnamic aromas. An excellent addition to basically any incense recipe, acting as a fixative and enhancing the overall aroma. The aroma is very potent so a little goes a long way. Its frequently used in Japanese incense, usually in very small quantities.
Obtained from Styrax benzoin trees on the lush island of Sumatra, Indonesia. Gum Benzoin is used in incense, perfumery, as a flavoring and as medicine. Resin pieces range from 1/4" - 2" in size.
